Your trip, your data, your call

The short version

  • No accounts. We never ask for your phone number, email or password to use TripDues.
  • We only keep what you type into a trip. Keep it as long as you like; when the organiser deletes it, it’s wiped and we keep no copy.
  • No ads, no tracking, no selling your data. Ever.

What we store for a trip

  • The trip name and currency.
  • The names added to the trip. They don’t need to be real or full names.
  • Expenses: what it was for, the amount, the date, notes, who paid and who shared it.
  • Payments marked as received, and a history of changes in the trip.
  • The organiser’s PIN, stored in a protected form that nobody can read, not even us.
  • Security records that help us protect the trip and alert the organiser.

What stays on your device

  • A small cookie that remembers which name is you in the trips you join. It holds no personal details.
  • Essential cookies that keep the site working securely.
  • No advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.

Technical information

  • Like any website, we receive basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type. We use it only to keep TripDues running and secure, and keep it no longer than needed.

Who can see a trip

  • Only people with the trip’s member link can join, and each name can be taken by one phone or browser only.
  • Friends see only the expenses they paid for or are part of. The organiser sees all expenses in the trip.
  • When a trip link is shared in a chat, the preview shows only the trip name, never people or amounts.

When you contact us

  • We save the topic, your message and, if you give it, your email address.
  • Your email is used only to reply to you. We keep messages as long as we need them to handle your request.

Deleting your data

  • The organiser can delete a trip at any time. Everything related to it is permanently wiped from our system straight away.
  • Both trip links stop working for good and are never given to another trip.
  • Want your name removed from a trip? Ask the organiser. If you need help, contact us.

What we never do

  • We don’t sell or rent your data, show ads, or use third-party analytics or trackers.
  • We don’t move money or ask for bank or card details. Payments happen outside TripDues.
  • We only share data if the law requires it.

Changes to this policy

  • If we change how we handle data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
